FORT McMURRAY — Wood Buffalo RCMP have obtained arrest warrants for two men accused in an armed home invasion on the Gregoire Lake Reserve south of Fort McMurray.
Police say officers responded to a residence on the reserve at about 2:08 a.m. Thursday after two suspects allegedly entered the home, assaulted a person and pointed a firearm at them.
The suspects allegedly demanded the victim’s phone and money before fleeing on a side-by-side painted black.
RCMP say the victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
Officers conducted extensive patrols of the area with Police Dog Services and a remotely piloted aircraft system but were unable to locate the suspects.
Police say the subsequent investigation led to the identification of two suspects and arrest warrants have been issued.
Jeremy Lacorde, 35, of Fort McMurray, is charged with robbery with a firearm, assault, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order.

Leighton Haineault, 35, of Fort McMurray, is charged with being an accessory after the fact to robbery with a firearm and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The allegations have not been proven in court.
Police say both men remain at large, are known to carry weapons and frequent the Fort McKay, Fort McMurray and Lac La Biche areas.
RCMP are warning members of the public not to approach either suspect.
The investigation remains ongoing.
