OTTAWA — Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux has crossed the floor to join the governing Liberals, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Wednesday.
In a post on social media, Carney said he was honoured to welcome the Edmonton Riverbend member to the Liberal caucus and thanked Jeneroux and his family for continuing his service in Parliament.
Carney said Jeneroux will take on the role of special advisor on economic and security partnership.
Jeneroux has represented the Alberta riding since 2015 and is the third Conservative MP to join the Liberals in recent months, following Michael Ma and Chris d’Entremont.
