Canada Day Parade
Get ready to celebrate Canada Day in Fort McMurray with a full day of community spirit, family fun, and local pride on Tuesday, July 1.
The annual Canada Day Parade returns at 10:30 a.m., travelling down Franklin Avenue from Main Street to Riedel Street. Residents, businesses, sports teams, and community groups are encouraged to take part with floats and walking groups as the community comes together to celebrate.
A sensory-friendly section of the parade will take place from 10:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. along Main Street to provide a quieter viewing experience for those with varying sensory needs.
Festivities will continue throughout the day with free family activities, entertainment, and community events happening across the region, including activities at MacDonald Island Park and kiyām Community Park.
Community groups and non-profits can also get involved through parade registration and fundraising opportunities available through the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
