In a plot twist that sounds more like reality TV than a bear contest, Grazer, the queen of fat bears, snagged her second Fat Bear title on Tuesday. She out-massed her rival Chunk, who just so happens to have killed her cub earlier this summer. The showdown had over 40,000 votes cast by fans watching Alaska’s Katmai National Park’s live bear-cams.
In this salmon-fueled face-off, Grazer wasn’t just bulking up for winter; she was avenging her cub! Chunk, who’s basically the river’s heavyweight champion, had snatched Grazer’s cub in a dramatic fish-grabbing scene. And while Grazer fought valiantly to save her cub, it didn’t survive the waterfall tumble—cue dramatic music.
Ultimately, Grazer triumphed in bear “Survivor: Salmon Edition,” proving that revenge is a dish best served… plump.
