Forecast Fire Danger, June 12, 2026 -Alberta Wildfire
FORT McMURRAY — Recent rainfall and cooler temperatures have lowered wildfire danger across the Fort McMurray Forest Area, according to Alberta Wildfire.
Officials reported Tuesday there are currently no active wildfires within the forest area.
Since the start of the year, 25 wildfires have been recorded in the region.
While conditions have improved, Alberta Wildfire is reminding residents to continue using caution with outdoor fires, noting wildfires can still start and spread even during periods of low danger.
The agency is also encouraging residents to take its wildfire safety pledge, which promotes responsible fire use, proper campfire extinguishment, off-highway vehicle safety and prompt reporting of wildfire smoke.
Participants who sign the pledge will be entered into a draw for an educational helicopter flight.
Alberta Wildfire is also reminding off-highway vehicle users to regularly clear debris from their machines, carry basic firefighting equipment and inspect hot spots that could ignite dry vegetation.
Wildfires can be reported by calling 310-FIRE.
The Fort McMurray Forest Area includes a large portion of northeastern Alberta surrounding Fort McMurray and several rural and remote communities.
