FORT McMURRAY — Wood Buffalo RCMP are inviting residents to take part in the third annual Bike Rodeo later this month, an event aimed at promoting cycling safety and encouraging families to get active.
The event will take place June 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wood Buffalo RCMP detachment on Paquette Drive.
RCMP are partnering with Safe Community Wood Buffalo and Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Bylaw Services to host the event.
Participants are encouraged to bring their bicycles and helmets and will have the opportunity to test their riding skills on an obstacle course.
Organizers say the event will also include bicycle safety education and helmet fit checks to help ensure riders are properly protected.
The Bike Rodeo is open to residents of Fort McMurray and the surrounding area.
RCMP say the event is intended to promote safe cycling habits while providing a fun, family-friendly activity for the community.
