FORT McMURRAY — The Fort McMurray Public School Division marked a major milestone this week as staff, retirees and administrators gathered to celebrate the division’s 45th annual Employee Recognition Night.
The event honoured a large number of employees for long-term service, retirements and contributions made throughout the school year.
Division officials say the annual recognition evening highlights the role staff members play in supporting students and strengthening the broader community through public education.

Superintendent Annalee Nutter said the event often reflects the strong personal and professional connections many employees develop with Fort McMurray over time.
“It is an honour to sit among peers every year to hear the many career stories often surrounding a short-term plan of an initial move to the city, which turns into growth of a family and settling down for multiple years and in some cases 45 years of service,” Nutter said in a statement.
“Celebrating everyone, including our retirees, is bucket-filling and feels like a real family celebration.”
The division says the evening recognized employees reaching significant service milestones while also celebrating retiring staff members and outstanding contributions made during the academic year.
Officials say the event also gave employees an opportunity to reconnect and reflect on shared experiences across the school division.
The Fort McMurray Public School Division thanked staff members for their continued commitment to public education and student success in the regio
