FORT MCMURRAY — A long-running Fort McMurray fundraiser supporting people experiencing homelessness is returning this fall under a new name.
The Centre of Hope is rebranding its former KD Gala as The Table, with the event set for Oct. 24 at the Fort McMurray Golf Club.
The organization says the new name is intended to build on the gala’s history while giving the event room to grow alongside the community it supports.
Executive Director Rosie Keating says the idea behind The Table is centred on belonging, dignity and making people feel welcome.
“The event may have a new name, but the reason we come together hasn’t changed,” Keating said.
The Centre of Hope works with people experiencing homelessness and those at risk of homelessness across Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
The organization says The Table will give residents an opportunity to support that work while learning more about the people and stories behind it.
The evening will include dinner and live entertainment, along with information about the Centre of Hope’s work throughout the region.
Chard Métis Dene Group of Companies and Creative Industries are serving as title sponsors for the 2026 event.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $75 and are available through MAC Calendar.
