FORT McMURRAY — A mobile men’s health clinic is coming to Fort McMurray 468 First Nation in September, offering free prostate cancer screening and other health checks.
The MAN VAN will be at the FMFN 468 Health Centre at 134 Lakeshore Dr. on Friday, Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
No appointment is required.
The mobile clinic will provide free baseline prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, blood testing for men between the ages of 40 and 70.
PSA testing can help with the early detection of prostate cancer, which can develop without warning signs.
Other services available during the visit include blood sugar and blood pressure testing, mental wellness checks and waist circumference measurements.
Fort McMurray 468 First Nation says the clinic is intended to make men’s health screening convenient and accessible within the community.
