Ipsos poll ranks Canada as top oil supplier among G7 nations ahead of summit in Alberta
As G7 leaders prepare to meet in Kananaskis, a new Ipsos poll shows Canada is now the most preferred oil supplier among G7 countries. Premier Danielle Smith says the findings reflect Alberta’s growing reputation as a secure and responsible energy producer, citing the province’s environmental standards and human rights record.
Smith says Alberta is increasingly seen as a global supplier of choice and a reliable energy partner. She says the results come at a critical moment, as Alberta prepares to showcase its energy strengths during the G7 summit.
The premier is calling on the federal government to lift production caps imposed by the previous Trudeau government and support additional pipelines to the West Coast. She says increasing access to global markets will help meet rising demand for responsibly produced Canadian oil.
