Alberta Wildfire conducts Hazard Reduction Burn
Two new wildfires over the weekend have kept the wildfire danger at very high in the Fort McMurray Forest Area today. Hot, dry weather and the chance of lightning are adding to the risk. There are now four active wildfires, all under control, along with a mutual aid fire burning in Wood Buffalo National Park near Lake Claire. Fire restrictions remain in place south of Lake Athabasca, banning wood fires on public land, fireworks, and exploding targets. A fire advisory continues in the north.
