The number of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in the province is going down.

As of November 9th, there are a total of 582 people in the hospital due to the virus, down 26 from yesterday and 123 in the intensive care unit, down five from yesterday.

There are 6,008 active cases in Alberta.

Fort McMurray saw 15 recoveries and six new cases bringing the active total to 123.

The rural areas saw 5 recoveries and 5 new cases keeping the active total at 10.

Unfortunately, there were five new deaths reported today, upping Alberta’s death count to 3,164 deaths due to COVID-19, 18 of which have been in Fort McMurray and 2 in the rural areas.

So far, 81.5 per cent of eligible Albertans over the age of 12 have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
