Fort McMurray is the only major community in Alberta to not see a fentanyl-related death in the first three months of 2020.

The provincial government released the first quarter opioid report in June where they noted there were 127 accidental overdoses from January to March.

This is slightly down from the 135 who died in the same time period of 2019.

Calgary and Edmonton continue to see the most deaths, 48 and 42 respectively.

Red Deer comes in third with eight overdoses, followed by Lethbridge at six, Grande Prairie at three, and Medicine Hat at one.

Emergency services had to respond to seven opioid-related incidents in Fort McMurray, the lowest among major communities. Calgary and Edmonton averaged 200 each.

Fort McMurray did see one non-fentanyl related death. Edmonton had the most with four.
