The Bed Races are a fun and entertaining family event, pitting teams of local businesses, industry, sporting clubs, friends and anyone (18+) who want to race to win the coveted Hospital Bed Races Golden Bedpan Trophy – and bragging rights – all in support of local healthcare.

Teams are made up of 4 people and one 150-pound sandbag “bedbug.” Teams will race head-to-head in 50-meter sprints to the finish line while dressed in themed costumes and/or corporate gear. The races are executed in randomly drawn heats. All teams are guaranteed two races with the fastest teams advancing. Prior to race day, teams are required to fundraise a minimum of $2,000
