The ‘Fort Mac Hockey Bros’ are once again looking to help kids across the region play the sport they love.
Parker and Cruze Flett are collecting old equipment which they plan to give to kids who can’t afford to play Canada’s favourite pastime.
Last year, they helped kids in Fort Chipewyan, Fort McKay, Conklin, and Janvier.
“I was overwhelmed by their compassion and consideration of kids their age, who don’t have the opportunity to play hockey,” said Allison Flett, Parker and Cruze’s mother, in a release.
“It’s becoming a family tradition for us, and I encourage everyone in our community to get on board this year.”
One community already seeing a big impact is Fort Chipewyan.
The number of kids registering in hockey has jumped since the donations were made.
Donations can be made directly to the Flett’s.
Meanwhile, the Hockey Bros are also submitting another tree in this year’s Festival of Trees.
Last year, their tree sold for record amount of $100,000.
The winning bidder of this year’s tree will also get the opportunity to travel with the Hockey Bros as they deliver hockey equipment to different communities.
The festival takes place on November 16.
