The Transit Master Plan for Wood Buffalo is now underway for the second round of public engagement.
A survey will be open until March 2, allowing residents to share their thoughts on the proposed recommendations.
Previous engagements were conducted in the summer of 2021, requesting feedback on the public’s opinions on schedules, routes, and shelters in the urban and rural communities.
“We appreciate all of the residents who shared their thoughts with us during the first round of engagement. We look forward to hearing how the recommendations can improve transit riders’ experiences,” says Joel Trudell, Senior Manager of Transportation and Facilities.
The RMWB will be hosting two virtual workshops taking place on both, Feb. 23 and Feb. 24, where residents can look over the Transit Master Plan and leave suggestions and opinions on what they feel can be improved.
The municipality is working with Dillon Consulting Limited in hopes of creating a Transit Master Plan that guides the future path for transit over the next five to 10 years.
The Transit Master Plan is expected to be finalized and presented to Council later this year.
