The local housing sector is continuing to have strong 2021.
According to the Fort McMurray REALTORS®, 70 single-family detached homes were sold in July.
This is down from the 73 from last year, however, this year’s properties brought in around $34,000 more.
Over the first seven months, nearly 496 single-family detached homes have been sold which is up from the 368 bought from January to July in 2020.
This year’s homes have also brought in, on average, $66,000 more.
When including all types of properties – apartments, mobile with land, semi-detached, and row – there have been 827 sales in the past seven months.
During the same period of 2020, only 548 properties were bought.
“While sales have not recovered to levels seen before the 2015 recession, on a year-to-date basis, they remain stronger than anything recorded over the past six years,” read the report.
Meanwhile, the Realtors note inventory levels are beginning to stabilize.
There are currently 418 properties on the market with 165 new listings.
“Thanks to some improvements in the sales to new listings ratio, inventories were stable relative to last month and are better then levels seen earlier in the year,” added the report.
