A 56-year-old Fort McMurray man is being charged with trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamines in Grande Prairie.
On October 18, RCMP pulled over a ‘suspicious truck’ after determining the license plate didn’t match the vehicle.
During a search of the truck, they found over 47 grams of bluish/purple fentanyl, 53 grams of methamphetamine, and around $1,600 in Canadian currency.
They also discovered the man, who was not named, didn’t have a valid driver’s license and had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
He was subsequently charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $,5000, operating an uninsured vehicle on a highway, and operating a vehicle without a subsisting license.
He remains in custody and is currently waiting to take part in a release hearing.
