FORT McMURRAY — A Fort McMurray radio station owned by Harvard Media is adding to its national profile with another Canadian Radio Award win.
After being named Station of the Year in 2024, 100.5 Cruz FM has earned further recognition at the 2025 Canadian Radio Awards, with Program Director Jordan Keating being named Music Director of the Year.
The Music Director of the Year award recognizes excellence in music leadership and programming vision, including playlist curation, support for Canadian artists and an ability to connect music choices with audience and market identity.
Keating took over as program director at Cruz FM in 2024 and led a full station relaunch, refreshing its active rock format and placing a stronger emphasis on local content and community connection. That relaunch helped earn Cruz FM national recognition as Station of the Year the same year.
“This award is a reflection of the team and the market,” Keating said. “We rebuilt Cruz with Fort McMurray in mind, with a stronger local voice. To see that work recognized nationally means a lot.”
Under Keating’s direction, Cruz FM has continued to support Canadian artists while strengthening its identity as a modern active rock station serving the Wood Buffalo region.
The Canadian Radio Awards, presented annually by industry publication Broadcast Dialogue, recognize excellence across Canada’s radio sector, including on air performance, programming leadership and station achievement.
With back to back national awards, Cruz FM says the recognition reflects both staff efforts and continued listener support in the Fort McMurray market.
