Three new cases of COVID-19 are being discovered in Wood Buffalo over the past 72-hours.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Monday 257 new cases in Alberta over the past three days.
This raises the provincial total to 11,687 with 1,090 currently active.
Two of the local cases were in Fort McMurray which raises the active total to 13.
The rural areas added one new case, while a recovery was removed from the province’s location map. Six cases are now active outside of the urban service area.
Across the RMWB, 112 individuals – 60 in Fort McMurray and 52 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 10,384 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents nearly 89 per cent of reported cases.
Meanwhile, five more people have died from the virus in Alberta – putting the death toll at 213.
None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
