Two new cases of COVID-19 are popping up in the RMWB over the past three days.
The province announced on Monday 230 new cases in Alberta in the past 72 hours – raising the provincial total to 8,826.
Both of the cases were in the rural areas with one confirmed in Fort McKay. There are currently 15 active outside of the urban service area.
There were no new cases in Fort McMurray with the community seeing two additional recoveries. This lowers the active total to two.
Across the RMWB, 79 individuals – 54 in Fort McMurray and 25 in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 7,989 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents under 91 per cent of the reported cases.
No more people have died from COVID-19 in the province over the past three days – keeping the death toll to 161.
None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
Meanwhile, the province is providing an additional 20 million masks through drive-thrus at participating McDonald’s, A&W’s, and Tim Hortons.
