There are no new cases of COVID-19 across the RMWB.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Friday 58 new cases across the province – putting the total at 6,515.
Two cases remain active in the region – one in Fort McMurray and one in the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation.
Twenty-three individuals across the RMWB, 21 in Fort McMurray and two in the rural areas, have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 5,317 who have recovered across the province. This represents over 81 per cent of the reported cases.
As for the two outbreaks at work camps, one person remains in quarantine on-site at Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake site, while no new cases have been linked to Canadian Natural Resources’ Horizon site.
Four more people have passed away from COVID-19 in Calgary – putting Alberta’s death toll at 125.
None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
Meanwhile, Hinshaw says outdoor gatherings can now include up to 50 people if everyone continues to follow all measures against the virus.
This includes staying two metres away from others, continuing proper hygiene habits, and not sharing drinks or food.
Indoor gatherings must remain at maximum of 15 individuals.
