Those without insurance who were impacted by the flood can now apply for disaster relief funding.
The province opened the application process on Monday after they announced the program would provide up to $100 million for those in the RMWB.
In a statement, Mayor Don Scott says it’s important those in need of help reach out as soon as possible.
“I recognize that these are stressful times for all of you that have been impacted. On top of this devastating flood, we are all dealing with the impacts of COVID-19 and other challenges, all at the same time,” he added.
“While in many ways the hard work is just getting started, my Council colleagues and our Municipality will continue to do what we can to ensure supports are in place alongside our many partners.”
The flood forced around 13,000 to evacuate in the Lower Townsite, Waterways, and Draper. Over 1,200 structures were also damaged.
People can apply by going to the GoA’s website.
Applications will be accepted until August 5, 2020.
