Two more people have recovered from COVID-19 in Fort McMurray.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Wednesday 70 new cases across the province – none of which in the RMWB.
This puts the provincial total at 5,963.
The number of active cases in Fort McMurray is now at eight.
Sixteen individuals in the RMWB – 14 in Fort McMurray and two in the rural areas – have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 3,552 in Alberta who no longer have the virus. This represents nearly 60 per cent of cases.
As for the outbreak at Imperial Oil’s Kearl Lake site, north of Fort McMurray, only one person remains in quarantine on-site, while there are 23 active cases off-site.
Meanwhile, six more individuals have passed away from COVID-19 – putting the death toll at 112.
None of the deaths have been in the RMWB.
