Canadians are being urged to check their freezers after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) expanded a recall of Pillsbury Pizza Pops due to possible E. coli contamination.
The expanded recall includes multiple flavours and package sizes, such as pepperoni, three-cheese, deluxe, and three-meat varieties. The bacteria may not be visible or detectable by smell, but it can cause serious illness.
Consumers are advised not to eat the affected products and to either throw them out or return them to the place of purchase. Anyone who feels sick after consuming Pizza Pops should seek medical advice.
The CFIA continues to work with retailers to remove the products from store shelves and is reminding consumers to double-check items at home.
