Health authorities in Canada have issued a nationwide recall of No Name brand frozen beef burgers after tests found a potential contamination with E. coli O157:H7 (a bacteria that can cause serious illness.)
The recall affects 1.36 kg packages of No Name beef burgers with the UPC code 0 60383 37333 7 and a best-before date of May 5, 2026. These products were sold across the country.
E. coli contamination isn’t always visible — the burgers may look and smell normal even if they’re unsafe. Symptoms of infection can include nausea, cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea, and in severe cases can lead to serious kidney complications.
What you should do:
-
Don’t eat, cook, or serve the recalled burgers.
-
Throw them out or return them to the store for a refund.
-
If you feel sick after eating them, contact your healthcare provider.
So far, no illnesses have been reported, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is investigating to ensure all affected products are off shelves.
Stay safe & check your freezer!
