We saw two different trailers for horror sequels appear this morning. The first a spin-off of the 28 Days Later franchise, but serves as a direct sequel to the most recent entry: 28 Years Later. (Which was fantastic, by the way.) The biggest questions raised by that movie are sure to be at least explored if not answered when 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Probably not one for the faint of heart, however. Though this entry is written and produced by the duo behind the franchise as a whole – Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, Nia DeCosta is sitting in the director’s chair for this one.
Now, as excited as I am for that one.. I am beyond pumped to watch THIS movie arrive next year.
Ready Or Not, from Radio Silence, is one of my top movies. Though I’d seen McG’s The Babysitter, THIS is the movie that cemented Samara Weaving as one of my favourite actors to watch. Not only is her blood-curdling scream so impressive they make her bust it out during late night interviews, but she’s incredibly expressive in every scene she’s in AND has great comedic timing. Big fan. And now she gets to chew up scenery with Katheryn Newton (Lisa Frankenstein, Freaky), and Sarah Michelle Gellar (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Buffy, duh), amongst others. I’m all but booking time off work.
