FORT MCMURRAY — The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo says Keyera has signed on as the new presenting partner for The Craze, the community’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration at MacDonald Island Park.
The free family event, now called The Craze presented by Keyera, will run on the afternoon of Dec. 31 and has drawn tens of thousands of people over the years.
Shane Roney, an operations superintendent with Keyera, said the company is proud to support a gathering that reflects the spirit and resilience of Fort McMurray. He said Keyera is committed to backing initiatives that strengthen the communities where it operates.
Graig Walsh, chief executive officer of the recreation corporation, said the partnership will help elevate one of the region’s most popular traditions. He said the event was created as a signature community gathering and continues to be centred on fun for everyone.
This year’s celebration will take place from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and SMS Equipment Place, with a full lineup of activities to be released soon on the MacDonald Island Park website.
