FORT McMURRAY — The Wood Buffalo Regional Library has a busy month lined up for kids and creators as it expands its weekly craft programs through December. The Kid Create series, aimed at children aged 6 to 8, runs twice each Sunday and continues to draw strong interest as registration opens for new dates.
The next sessions are set for Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. The earlier class is already full, while nine spots remain in the later hour. Each session offers guided crafts and activities, and families are asked to register for only one of the two identical options.
More Kid Create events follow on Dec. 7, with registration opening Dec. 1 at midnight. Library staff say the one-hour classes, held in the children’s area, tend to fill quickly as parents look for weekend programming heading into the holidays.
The library will continue the series on Dec. 14 and Dec. 21. Registration for those dates opens Dec. 8 and Dec. 15. The program has become one of the library’s most popular offerings and often reaches capacity soon after spots are released.
The final Kid Create sessions of the year are scheduled for Dec. 28 at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Registration for those classes opens Dec. 22. Staff say demand remains steady as families seek creative activities during the winter school break.
All Kid Create programming is sponsored by Suncor. The library encourages families to register early once spots open and to check availability online as sessions continue to fill.
