BOYLE — RCMP say one person is dead and another is in hospital after three semi trucks crashed on Highway 63 near Range Road 173.
Police responded around 7:24 p.m. on Nov. 25 and arrived to find one of the trucks engulfed in flames. One driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not life threatening. Another had minor injuries. The third driver died at the scene.
RCMP say the investigation continued until about 8 a.m. Wednesday. Their initial findings point to poor conditions and low visibility as major factors in the collision.
The highway is expected to reopen late this afternoon once debris is cleared and the trucks are recovered.
Alberta RCMP offered condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
