I’ve been working on a project for 3 years now, alongside a talented team of filmmakers. Anchored by the current Arts INC project from Arts Council Wood Buffalo, we put together a documentary about local artists in Wood Buffalo as well as about what they need to survive and thrive while creating art in the industrial north. The film also utilized commissioned and licensed art from nearly 2 dozen local artists across several disciplines, all woven into the visuals, audibles, and heart of the story as it unfolds. Now it’s finally time to share the story.
The film is approximately 60 minutes long and is beginning its film festival run that will kick off with the World Premiere screening right here at home in Fort McMurray. The Premiere screening takes place at Suncor Energy Centre For Performing Arts on November 6th. The event begins with a showcase of local art featured in the film and small artist market in the SECPA atrium at 6:30pm. Doors to the screening open at 7:00pm, with the screening at 7:30pm followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers. Tickets are on sale right now.
Rendering Visions is directed by Ashley Laurenson, and is a production of M’Guphynn Media.
