Parents can claim up to $150 per child for 2025–26 school year
FORT McKAY, AB. — Residents of Fort McKay have an opportunity to get some money back for their school supplies. The First Nation is reimbursing up to one hundred and fifty dollars per student from kindergarten through Grade 12 for the 2025–26 school year.
To qualify, parents or legal guardians must submit receipts for eligible items such as supplies, backpacks, shoes, lunch bags and water bottles, along with a copy of the school supply list. The maximum reimbursement is issued by electronic transfer to the parent or guardian.
Receipts can be sent by email to program coordinator Nicole Serafinchna or dropped off at the band office in a labelled envelope. The deadline for submissions is September 29.
Officials say families should allow two weeks for processing once receipts are submitted.
