Fort McMurray’s Uncle Bill’s sells second $100,000 lottery ticket in months
FORT MCMURRAY, AB. — A Fort McMurray convenience store is proving to be a lucky charm for lottery players after selling its second six-figure winning ticket in just months.
Local resident Wilma Allejos is the latest big winner, taking home $100,000 from the May 2 EXTRA draw. The shocked winner said she initially couldn’t believe her eyes when checking her numbers on the Lotto Spot app.
“I checked the ticket twice while counting all those zeroes,” Allejos said. “It’s an answer to prayers.” Her husband was equally skeptical, needing to verify the win himself before believing their good fortune.
The winning ticket was purchased at Uncle Bill’s on Signal Road, the same store that sold a $100,000 winning scratch-and-win ticket to another Fort McMurray resident in March.
Allejos matched six of seven numbers (2-6-3-9-2-7) to claim her prize. She plans to pay off bills and share the windfall with family.
The back-to-back big wins have locals wondering if Uncle Bill’s might be the lucky lottery spot in Fort McMurray.
