We’ve got another trio of trailers to try out: and arthouse feature, a blockbuster horror, and some straight-to-streaming fare as well.
First up is Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, and more in a strange and violent story circling the investigations of one Honey O’Donahue. Ethan Coen of the Coen Brothers and Fargo fame (movie and show) is directing and served as co-writer.
Next up is the sensationalized story of the final Ed and Lorraine Warren case – though I don’t believe for a second that it will be the last movie in the larger The Conjuring/Annabelle/The Nun mega-franchise. They’ll be making these movies for the rest of time in some form or another. Can’t wait to find out how THIS case is different than any other, like every other one we’ve seen.
And finally, some big budget Netflix streaming fodder. The first Old Guard film was fun, a sort of pseudo-Highlander thing. Kind of underbaked, but that fits the usual Netflix mold. Now the immortal Charlize Theron (who they felt the need to re-touch to DEATH in this thumbnail image) must face an even-more immortal Uma Thurman. For old grudges. For unpaid debts. For the sake of humanity! … Or something like that.
Which one of these grabs your attention most?
