Nirvana Reunites For FireAid

Here is the full 6 hour concert, but you can catch the Nirvana set by jumping to 3:43:00.

“Bringing together some of the top names in music and entertainment, both Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum will host FireAid on Thursday, January 30, to raise money for rebuilding communities devastated by wildfires and supporting efforts to prevent future fire disasters throughout Southern California.”

Obviously the band will never again be able to truly reunite without Kurt Cobain, but this was incredible. Dave Grohl and Krist Novacelic shared the stage with later-addition Pat Smear and four female guest vocalists including St. Vincent, Joan Jett, Violet Grohl, as well as other guests like Kim Gordon on bass. Nobody expected this. You can hear the surprise in the crowd as they react to the first song in the set “Breed.”

Beyond the Nirvana surprise, featured performances included:

Alanis Morissette, Anderson .Paak, Dave Matthews and John Mayer, Dawes, Graham Nash, Green Day, John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, No Doubt, P!nk, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stephen Stills, Stevie Nicks and the Black Crowes at the Kia Forum

Billie Eilish, Earth, Wind & Fire, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Baby, Olivia Rodrigo, Peso Pluma, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Sting and Calgary’s own Tate McRae at Intuit Dome.
