Keyano College Student Wins National Power Engineering Award
FORT MCMURRAY, Alberta — A student in Keyano College’s Power Engineering 4th Class Comprehensive program has been recognized with a nationwide award. Nathan Morin, a Power Engineering 4th Class Comprehensive program student, received the PanGlobal Outstanding Student Achievement Award recognizing both his academic excellence and dedication to the profession.
Indika Arachchi, Chair of Power Engineering and Process Operations at Keyano, praised Morin’s accomplishment, saying that the PanGlobal Awards celebrate the very best and brightest in the field.
Morin said he was drawn to the power engineering program as a fast track to launching his career, and despite the program’s intensity, he found it both challenging and rewarding.
“I chose Keyano over other colleges mainly for the length of the program,” said Morin. “Keyano will give you what you need and get you working as fast as possible.” He said he devoted the entire four months to studying.
Morin’s instructors, including Gallage De Silva, spoke highly of his resilience and standout performance throughout the program. “The program equips students with a strong foundation in academic knowledge and practical skills,” said De Silva. “Nathan’s openness to learning and his resilience in facing challenges positioned him as a standout performer.”
The program has consistently produced other award-winning students, including recipients of the PanGlobal Award.
