Patti Scialfa, longtime E Street Band member and wife of Bruce Springsteen, has revealed her battle with blood cancer in the new documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Diagnosed with early-stage multiple myeloma in 2018, Scialfa shared that the condition has made touring more challenging. This rare cancer affects plasma cells, and treatment isn’t always needed right away.

Scialfa, married to Springsteen since 1991, now attends some shows and occasionally sings, embracing a “new normal.” Road Diary premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and will be available on Hulu and Disney+ on October 25.
