Aging arcade fighters rejoice.
During a Nintendo Direct showcase yesterday we saw several new game announcements. There’s a Legend of Zelda where you play as Zelda. There’s a new Mario Party to lose friendships to. And one of the most unexpected announcements was the return of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 as part of the new Fighting Collection Arcade Classics title. Seven games in one bundle from the golden years of the arcade, some that haven’t seen an official release in decades, one having never left the arcade for computers or consoles in North America. The timing of this announcement is expert after the success of X-Men ’97 on Disney+. And all of the games have online multiplayer support with smooth rollback net code for seamless battles. Inner child officially freaking out. Read more about the upcoming release here.
