The annual Fort City Father’s Day Car Show is set to kick off on June 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event where people from around Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo and beyond showcase the coolest toys in the region.

The car show is free to attend and will feature over 140 cars, trucks, and motorcycles, along with bouncy castles for children and a free barbecue for the whole family.
“The vehicles in the show are the best of the best,” said Lucas Welsh, team development pastor at Fort City Church. “The show is a great way to spend some time on Father’s Day, see amazing vehicles, and spend time with people in the community.”
Legacy Dodge is sponsoring the 10th-anniversary show. There are 20 categories of awards for vehicles registered in the event. Categories range from highest horsepower diesel to best pre-1950s domestic car. Woodland Drive will be closed to traffic so Fort City can set up a dynamo and test the speed and horsepower of the vehicles at the event.
“We love this city; it’s given us so much. We’re just happy to be able to host a family event for our neighbours and make the city a better place to live for everyone,” said Welsh.
The Fort City Car Show will be located at 101 Spruce Street and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 16.
