Airport Eggstravaganza brings support for United Way

Fort McMurray International Airport is handing out $6,150 to our local United Way.

The money comes from this past weekend’s YMM Hareport Eggstravaganza where over 1,500 guests came out to participate in crafts, enjoy treats, and get photos with the Easter Bunny.

Participants also had the opportunity to interact with animal friends from the Pets & Wellness Society (PAWS).

“These community events are an opportunity to promote YMM as a welcoming, safe place to gather and to strengthen the relationships we have with the community we serve,” says Denean Robinson, President & CEO, of the Fort McMurray Airport Authority.

This year’s event also featured a sensory hour during which children enjoyed a quiet, calm environment, and complimentary fidgets.

United Way Fort McMurray’s executive director, Cathy Steeves, said the funds play a vital role in helping support the organization’s fundraising efforts.
