RMWB seeking volunteers for municipal boards

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RWMB) is seeking volunteers for municipal Boards.

The RMWB says there are multiple vacancies on committees and governance bodies that allow community members to have a say in local governance while giving back to the community. The municipality says it is also an opportunity for professional growth and networking.

“As Chair of the Wood Buffalo Pro-Business Advisory Committee, I’ve been able to recommend positive changes that will benefit our community, in collaboration with business and industry leaders,” said Dianna de Sousa, who also works as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.

“I’ve also deepened my own understanding of municipal governance and helped raise awareness of local business opportunities and challenges.”

The RMWB currently is seeking volunteers for the following groups:

  • Combative Sports Commission
  • Fort McMurray Airport Authority
  • Public Art Committee
  • Subdivision and Development Appeal Board
  • Wood Buffalo Waterfront Advisory Committee
  • Advisory Committee on Aging
  • Wood Buffalo Development Advisory Committee
  • Wood Buffalo Pro-Business Advisory Committee

The RMWB says applicants can apply for multiple vacancies, and applications can be made online, through the RWMB’s website.
