Conklin Métis Community is announcing seven new business partnerships to spur its economic growth.
The hamlet located approximately 150 kilometers south of Fort McMurray has grappled with housing shortages and limited economic opportunities despite its proximity to the oil sands.
The Conklin Resource Development Advisory Committee unveiled seven new business partnerships which it believes will have a transformative impact on their population.
The newly forged partnerships represent a diverse array of industries and include:
- Brothers HDD
- Enviromulch Mulching & Logging Services
- Gateway Mechanical
- Global Fusion Coating Inc.
- Lynco Energy Services
- Great Northern Bridgeworks
- Surerus-Murphy Joint Venture
They say the businesses will significantly boost income generation, job prospects, and skills training within the community.
Tany Yao, MLA for Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo, and Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and Northern Development said he was thrilled to see new business partnerships coming to the Conklin Métis Community.
