FMCSD calls byelection

The Catholic School District is calling a byelection to fill the opening on left on their board.

Jonathan Higdon resigned as Trustee in November of last year.

The controversial Trustee raised eyebrows last summer after posting social media comments some members of the LGBTQSA community found upsetting.

The voting will take place on April 8th. Nominations to run for the position are open until March 11th.

Board Chair Cathie Langmead states she is looking forward to continuing the work of the Board with a new member this spring.

“We look forward to a full complement of trustees following this by-election process, to continue the important governance work necessary to ensure that all of our students and staff are provided a safe, welcoming and caring environment to learn and teach in, centred in our Catholic values,” said Langmead.
