The cooler weather is increasing access to and from Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.

On Tuesday afternoon the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) announced the load limit on the La Loche winter trail is increasing to 27,500 kilograms.

The RMWB says this is the maximum weight limit for the trial, and no further increases will be announced. The Municipality is asking all road users to drive slowly to match conditions and to keep an eye out for large fuel trucks which are now permitted on and expected to travel the route.
