Premier Danielle Smith is celebrating the opening of Alberta’s new office in our nation’s capital.

The province says the new office will play a key role in promoting our province and creating stronger relationships with governments in Ottawa.

“This office opening could not have come at a more important time for our province,” said Premier Smith.

“I am very pleased that we will have a centre for advocacy and information right here within the capital city.”

Smith’s visit to the capital was marked by jeers of protestors who gathered on Wellington Street yesterday afternoon to decry what they call an attack on Queer rights in Alberta.

The Federal Employment Minister and MP for Edmonton Centre, Randy Boissonnault, also took to the mic, calling Alberta’s proposed gender laws “the most draconian and harmful policies for young people in the country.”

“We will be paying very close attention to see what’s in Premier Smith’s legislation,” added Boissonnault.
