Winter maintenance is scheduled to continue this week, with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) activating Subzones 3 and 4.

From January 29 – February 2, the RMWB is conducting a snow plowing operation and is pushing snow to the sides or center of the roadway to maintain at least one traffic lane, with space for street parking. The RM says it is different than snow removal, which is done once or twice per season and involves loading snow into trucks and hauling it away.

For residents living in Subzones 3 and 4, on-street parking restrictions will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on your scheduled day for winter maintenance. Residents can look up their scheduled service day using the “Find Your Zone tool” on the RMWB website.

The Municipality has relaxed Zones 1 and 2 for this week, and no winter parking restrictions are in effect.
