Keyano College is celebrating a $85 thousand donation from the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).

The money is going to support the RBC Career Transition Program at the College over the next two years.

The six-week course helps equip students with skills necessary for professional success including business communications, employment strategies, and safety protocols.

“We are extremely grateful for this generous donation from RBC,” said Dr. Coert Erasmus, Dean of the School of Business, University Studies, & Academic Upgrading at Keyano College.

“This contribution will significantly enhance our program’s impact on learners, provide a personalized learning experience, and increase their employability in the region.”

The program also includes a short volunteer placement with local businesses and organizations, including RBC Royal Bank. Keyano says the volunteer experience allows students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings and gain insights into their chosen fields.

RBC Branch Manager, Suman Jafri, said the bank is committed to supporting education in the community.

“We are proud to invest in Keyano College,” said Jafri, adding the program will, “learners gain new skills, expand their networks, and get the necessary workplace experience to thrive in today’s economy.”
