The start of 2024 marks the end of Photo Radar in the RMWB.
In November of 2022, our Municipal council voted not to renew the arrangement for Automated Traffic Enforcement in our region. The contract came to a close on December 31.
As of Monday, January 1, 2024, there are no photo radar trucks or intersection safety cameras operating in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
Adding to the changes, on December 1st, the Province of Alberta eliminated photo radar from Edmonton’s Anthony Henday Drive and Calgary’s Deerfoot trail.
