RCMP investigating homicide in Fort McKay following ‘hold and secure’

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating a homicide following the “hold and secure” in Fort McKay on Dec. 5, 2023.

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a firearms complaint at 3 a.m. on Target Road.

A 60-year-old man from Fort McKay was located upon arrival and found with life-threatening injuries.

The man passed from his injuries a short time later.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and is treating the death as a homicide.

A second individual was reported with injuries unrelated to the incident.

21-year-old Anton Grandjambe of Fort McKay is still wanted following the incident.

Those with information about the event or who may know the whereabouts of Grandjambe are asked to call Wood Buffalo RCMP at  780‐788‐4040.
