RMWB to kick off holiday season December 2nd

Santa Claus Parade, December 2

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is inviting you to join in the celebration of this year’s holiday season at their Starry Night party and the Santa Claus Parade on December 2nd.

The Municipal Council’s Stary Night holiday party is being held at Kiyām Community Park at 5 p.m. with a tree and tipi lighting ceremony, as well as activities and entertainment suitable for all age groups.

This year marks the first in-person tipi and tree-lighting ceremony at the new downtown square.

“Everyone is invited to gather with us and share in the region’s northern, festive and holiday spirit,” said Mayor Sandy Bowman.

“We look forward to connecting with friends old and new as we celebrate the season together while reflecting on the blessings and opportunities we have as a community.”

The Santa Claus Parade will then begin making its way down Franklin Avenue at 6 p.m. offering a spectacle of brightly lit floats, music, and the exciting opportunity to catch a glimpse of Saint Nick himself.
